Best RB Picks

My Week 8 Running Backs to choose from are as follows:

  1. Matt Forte $9500
  2. Jamaal Charles $8700
  3. Marshawn Lynch $8500
  4. Andre Ellington $7400
  5. Ben Tate $7000
  6. Justin Forsett $6700
  7. Darren McFadden $6100
  8. Mark Ingram $6100
  9. Matt Asiata $5900
  10. Jerick McKinnon $5800
  11. Bernard Pierce $5500
  12. Isiah Crowell $5100
There you have 12 of the RBs that I would recommend. Below, I will give a detailed breakdown of each one. That's right! Pros and cons! One thing they all have in common = they are all playing against the worst run defenses in the NFL! Not rocket science! That doesn't guarantee that they will do well, but it kinda makes sense wouldn't you think?

Matt Forte $9500: He is playing against about the 9th worst ranked run defense in the league (NE). The last performances against NE are as follows: Moreno=20.4; asiata=14; McFadden=6.5; Charles=28.8; bengals rbs combined for 17 pts; fred Jackson=10.3.  Matt forte is HOT right now and has posted 23, 27, 21, and 18 points in his last 4 performances. If the Bears can manage to gain a lead, which I think they will (especially after last weeks poor performance), then I think that the Bears will be leaning on their work horse RB --> Matt Forte, which is why he is the highest costing player I recommend this week.

Jamaal Charles $8700: He will be facing the 5th worst run defense in St. Louis this week. The rams played pretty well last week against Marshawn Lynch, but Lynch's running style did not match up well against the rams. Charles should be able to catch quite a few balls out of the backfield. Look for some nice screen pass runs from Charles against the aggressive front four of the rams. Charles has only posted modest numbers for most of the season, but he has posted good numbers against poor quality rush defenses such as the rams. However, something tells me that the rams will be focusing on stopping Charles, and they may very well stack the box. Not sure I want to spend $8700 on Charles, but he will likely make his way into at least a few of my line ups.

Marshawn Lynch $8500: So his last few performances haven't been outstanding, but this could be a bounce back week for him. The last running backs against the panthers have posted the following fantasy results: Lacy=14; giovani Bernard=21; matt forte=27; ravens runners=24; leveon bell 14. All double digit runners since week three! I think Lynch gets you at least 10 pts if not much more. Feel safe playing Lynch this week!

Andre Ellington $7400: So he is going against the Philadelphia Eagles (My favorite team of ALL TIME!), and I can tell you first hand that these two teams have it out every year. The eagles rarely (if ever) win. At any rate, the eagles' run defense is ranked as the 10th worst so far. I know they will be worried about the Cardinal's receivers and will def NOT be stacking the box. I think Ellington has a huge week and posts greater than 15 points! Look for him to catch and run a lot. Considering how much less he costs than the guys above him, I think he will be a Middle Class STEAL. He needs to be in several line ups!

Ben Tate $7000: Wow, I really don't like Ben Tate as a running back in general. Not even sure why, but let's not allow my bias to interfere with our money! First off, he is part of a running back committee. He is sharing touches with Isiah Crowell (goal line carries at that), and that may lower his numbers. Oakland's run defense numbers are atrocious. While I do believe that Tate will likely do better than Crowell, the price difference is so high that I can't really justify using Tate. All of my top RB picks could have good weeks. So I would at least start him in like a $5 50/50 league where there isn't much to lose. I think he at least gets you 10 pts, but the $7000 price tag is a little too high.

Justin Forsett $6700: He just may be my start of the week. He is running really hard in general, and I believe that the coaching staff is starting to believe in this guy. 9, 12, 15, 15 in his last four games. Those numbers don't make you jump through the ceiling, but keep in mind that he is not costing you a billion dollars like some of the others. Not to mention that he is against the Bengals def. Even the panther's 4th string running back put up 10 fantasy points. I'm playing Forsett in all types of lineups. Only con is the Bernard Pierce thief! Beware!!! I would feel comfortable starting him ($6700 is a $TEAL!!!
